Peter Njuguna, Founding Director - Project 51 Architecture
Peter has been practicing as a registered architect since 2012.
His previous experience includes working for award winning conservation practice, Davies Sutton Architects in Cardiff between 2004 and 2005.
He subsequently worked for Inspiration Architects in Newbury between 2007 and 2008 assisting in designing an international golf resort in Turkey as well as working on country houses in the Berkshire area.
After joining MEB Design Ltd in 2009 as an RIBA Part III candidate, he gained project design and contract administering experience to gain ARB registration in 2012. The experience gained at MEB Design Ltd, from which a selection of projects are highlighted in the 'Past Projects' section of this website includes:
- Masterplans and feasibility studies for a number of independent schools and churches
- Sketch design to construction completion of a number of residential projects
- Design competitions for both feasibility studies and individual buildings for independent schools, churches and cultural projects
- Design & Build production information for contractors
has project run Masterplans, community and residential projects, and in particular has been instrumental in developing the Children’s Rescue Centre in Eldoret, Kenya, a pro-bono project that he has regularly visited as construction has progressed.
in well as working for a 9 years post education experience as a Kenyan international student, joined Cardiff University where he gained a passion for critical regionalism, locally relevant and environmentally sensitive architecture. He later joined Oxford Brookes University for his Diploma, gaining from departments as varied as International Architecture and Anthropology to Experimental Design.
His previous work experience includes a nationally recognised conservation practice in Cardiff, and designing an international resort in Turkey with a different practice in Newbury. After joining MEB Design in 2009, he has project run Masterplans, community and residential projects, and in particular has been instrumental in developing the Children’s Rescue Centre in Eldoret, Kenya, a pro-bono project that he has regularly visited as construction has progressed. He is currently working as a freelance consultant for MEB Design as well as pursuing some of his own interests.
He is a keen squash player, an amateur surfer, and training for his second triathlon
